Happy New Year!
2018 is here and I’ve been inspired by reading everyones goals for the year. As I sit here feeling a little down that the holidays are over, I’m also excited for what’s to come!
In December we had an offer accepted on a house. Everything has of course gone quiet over the holidays, but we couldn’t be more pleased. It’s a beautiful, older style building, with high ceilings and stunning windows on the landing. We’ve got so many ideas for how it should look, and how to make the most of the space. It will make for some interesting blog posts as we decorate and add our own style.
At the end of this month, there’s 16 of us heading off to a beautiful chalet in France for some snow sports. It falls inbetween Mark turning 30 and then me in February, so it’s a bit of an unofficial celebration! I’m very much looking forward to a week of sun, snow and hot tubs.
I don’t have many goals for this year, I only want to live a happier and healthier life. We were gifted 2 recipe books for Christmas; ‘Re-Nourish’ by Rhiannon Lambert, and Jamie Olivers 5 Ingredient Meals. The plan is to make a big effort to eat better and be more adventurous, perhaps even having some vegetarian meals each week. Plus – get back to the gym!
Apart from skiing, we don’t have a holiday booked for this year. It would be lovely to explore some more Scottish islands, or even get away somewhere hot for a break. Though our entire focus is on the house right now, so maybe we’ll spend most of the year nesting, painting and looking at furniture.
I think 2018 is going to be full of cooking, decorating and getting my 30s off to a good start!
