Blogger Conference – Starting Blogging

Around one month ago – probably longer, I decided to start a blog.  I kept diaries since I was about 7 or 8 years old, and sporadically as an adult.  As the internet and social media has grown, I have loved reading blogs and articles.  Right now, it’s just a way to put my thoughts and opinions down in a more organised fashion.  Though, the more I enjoy writing, I think I would like to strive towards this being something I could eventually do as a career.

Edinburgh Bloggers Conference 2017

So today I done a mad thing – I booked up for the Edinburgh Bloggers Conference on June 17th.  Kind of feart for a few different reasons:

Firstly, I’m going by myself.  Not that I actually care, I have flown all over the USA and Europe by myself.  I like to think of myself as an independent woman – as I can go to the toilet by myself on nights out.  It’s just a little scary because it’s all so new, and i’ll potentially be mixing with people who are more experienced and well known.

Secondly, I have to question whether I have the confidence to really get involved and ask questions.  However, I worked at summer camp, so I’m more than a little experienced at getting stuck in and operating waaay outside your comfort zone.

Thirdly, am I being too ambitious?  Surely everyone has these doubts when they start trying to self promote?  Who’s going to read about my life if it’s not all glitz, glam and perfect make up?  I’m a nurse, with a horse.  I do jogging bottoms, 3 days of dry shampoo and muddy hands.

Anyway, as I am the above mentioned ‘independent woman’, i’ll be going to the conference and taking notes.  If nothing else, it’s bound to be a great experience and hopefully I can meet some likeminded people and get great advice.

If you happen to read this and are going to the Edinburgh Bloggers Conference 2017, I would genuinely love to hear from you!  Please get in touch via email or social media and perhaps we could meet for a coffee.

Disclaimer:  I don’t drink coffee, or tea, but i’ll have juice and good chat!  (I’m actually not a huge juice fan either so water with lemon perhaps?)

Tickets for EBC 2017 are £37.50 and can be found through the following link: Edinburgh Blogger Conference
